Michael is a palaeographer, epigraphist, and papyrologist with a research focus in ancient religion and magic. His work as a postdoctoral researcher for the ERC-funded ZODIAC project (2021-2026) examines the transmission of astrological texts in Greek papyri. He is an associate editor of the Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum for the Near East and Egypt, and from 2016 to 2021 he was researcher for volume VI of LGPN, with a focus on Greek names attested in Semitic-language sources. He now advises the LGPN team on continuing work on names from Egypt (volume VIIa).
